Your words have consequences. They matter. Something you say in a state of partial awareness can still scar someone who regards you as important and designates a certain weight to anything you do or say. It can hurt. It can sting. It can poison the mind and cause decades of harm. It can force them to rethink your role in their life. It can make them want to be as far away from you as possible.
There's a certain stigma attached to being hurt by words. Some people call you too sensitive. Too weak. Too vulnerable. Easily wounded. But if someone feels hurt by something YOU said, then its not as much what you said that matters, as much as the fact that YOU are the one who said it. YOU, who they value, respect and love.
So what you should really question is, what kind of violent energy do you intentionally want to put out there?
